After leaving school, I studied at Bath College on an entry-level construction course, where I gained the basics of all the trades. From there, I chose plastering and started an apprenticeship with a local plastering and damp-proofing company.

Once qualified, I worked with a building firm in Bath that specialised in property maintenance, wet rooms, and loft conversions. This experience allowed me to develop skills in tiling, decorating, and general building work, while building a strong knowledge of regulations and quality standards.

Over the past 15 years, Ely’s has grown into a trusted local building company in Bath. We’ve completed thousands of projects, from plastering and tiling to full property renovations. Working alongside skilled tradespeople, I’ve learned how to deliver work efficiently, run a professional business, and build lasting relationships with customers. Today, Ely’s is known for reliable service, quality finishes, and honest pricing.

I’ve trained apprentices along the way. One of them, Lizy, has gone on to play a key role in the business. With her background in building surveying, she now runs the decorating side of Ely’s. Her attention to detail and passion for adding finishing touches means every project, whether plastering, tiling, painting, or property maintenance, is completed to the highest standard.
